about
I wrote this song at a tough time. Both my wife and newborn daughter were having extended stays in the hospital. A friend died suddenly. I felt shell-shocked. I thought about how random life seems. As hard as you try or pray you can't stop death. Just be grateful that you're here now. Show people that you care about them.
lyrics
Why do you walk around the streets at night
With stinging pain behind your eyes
Fist clenched teeth grit
Why's it like this
And hold it in so none can tell
You're really not doing so well
Heart hurt brain broke
Feels like could choke
Time says that you can't control
The come and go of growing old
So you know that nothing gold can last
But didn't count on it so fast
Eye blink long gone
Feeling so wrong
And how to not get overwhelmed
When folks you know will die as well
And who can stop this steady flow
Of souls moving to and fro

It's SOOO MANY pop punk songs in one place. excellent harmonies and arrangements. SO FUN! Johnny, rollerskating, my molecules, and werewolf are the best! George Bailey
